About You

If you’re a confident communicator with a passion for fair play, an interest in competitive chess, and the ability to focus and remain observant for the duration of a tournament, you could be the person we’re looking for!

What you’ll do

• Ensure that players’ cameras are set up correctly and accurately, so that they’re clearly visible
• Perform other checks to ensure players are not receiving any outside assistance
• Monitor players’ cameras to ensure fair play rules are being adhered to at all times
• Maintain contact with players to hold them to our fair play rules and regulations (for example, making sure players (re)join Zoom calls, remove headphones, switch their cameras back on, etc.)
• Communicate clearly and with empathy across linguistic and cultural barriers, making sure your message is conveyed with confidence and persuasion
• Be observant and aware of (or willing to learn quickly about) technologies related to fair play

Preferred Skills

• You are a strong communicator
• You have an understanding of Chess and Chess tournaments
• You can be assertive and respectful
• You are empathetic towards other cultures
• You have familiarity with Zoom and Video calls

About the Opportunity

• This is a part-time, contract position
• We are 100% remote (work from anywhere!)
